Date Nut Bread

Wheat Germ Muffins

Ingredients:

1 cup brown sugar
1 cup all-purpose white flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 egg
1/4 cup soft butter
1 cup buttermilk
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup raisins

  1. Preparation:Heat oven to 400 degress; grease muffin tins

  2. Bowl One: combine 1 cup brown sugar, 1/4 cup soft butter

  3. Bowl Two: combine 1 cup all-purpose white flour, 2 teaspoons baking powder, 1/2 teaspoon salt

  4. Bowl Three: combine 1 cup buttermilk, 1 egg, 1 teaspoon baking soda. Add 1 cup wheat germ and 1 cup raisins, stirring as little apossible

  5. Fill pie crusts with egg mixture and bake for 50 minutes at 350 degrees. The quiche is finished when a knife comes out clean from the center.

Quiche

Stuffed French Toast with Strawberries

Ingredients:

8 ounces cream cheese
1 loaf white bread (16 - 20 slices)
10 eggs
1 1/2 cups half-and-half
1/4 cup maple sugar
1/2 cup melted butter (1/4 lb.)

  1. The French toast must be prepared the night before and then baked just before serving

  2. Preparation: Grease a 13 x 9 x 2 inch baking dish. Make a 3-slice "sandwich" by spreading cream cheese between the slices of bread. Cut each sandwich into square pieces (approx. 1 inch pieces). Place in a baking dish.

  3. Mix the eggs, half-and-half, maple syrup, and melted butter until well blended. Pour evenly over the bread and p-ress down until the egg miture is soaked up.

  4. Cover and refrigerate overnight. Bake 50 - 55 minutes at 350 degrees until lightly browned. Cut into squares.

  5. Strawberry Sauce: 2 cups strawberry preserves and sliced fresh strawberries (optional).

  6. Heat the preserves in a saucepan with a little water until syrupy. Add fresh strawberries. Serve over cut squares of French toast.

French Toast with Strawberries

Breakfast Egg Frittata

Ingredients:

1/2 cup butter
10 eggs
1/2 cup flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 large curd cottage cheese, 8oz.
1/2 lb. of shredded jack cheese
1/4 teaspoon salt

Mix together. Pour into a 13 x 9 x 2 inch baking dish and cook at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes.
